Someone who is in your circle of friends online will get priority in sending messages to you, you can quickly set up a team event or connection with all your friends on one channel, and contact them as a group. Your personal agent will also use your friends list to provide a better service for you in the Plugenic channels you're connected to.
To add someone that has a public listing online, access Plugenic Whitepages, or if you know their plugenic login, use your Preferences to include them.
